Subject	Water Pump Carnage = inferior parts?

Message	I was helping a friend with his car at a Z32 Tech Day and came across this. He was driving on the highway and this happened. He pulled over immediately and had the car towed home until we could look at it. He described what happened to me over the phone, but i had no idea it would be this... Is this the result of an inferior water pump? I'm leaning towards "yes" as I have NEVER seen this happen before. This pump was installed prior to him owning the car. Massive failure. We're replacing it with an OEM pump.
